Noel Calhoun, Deputy Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine visited the “Hnutove” entry-exit checkpoint in the area of ​​the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas.

"The purpose of the visit to Donbas was to study the situation and consolidate efforts to observe the rights of the civilian population amid the Russian aggression. Among other things, the UN representative inspected the conditions for crossing the delimitation line within the existing humanitarian road corridors," the press service of the JFO Headquarters reports.

As noted, Noel Calhoun praised the positive changes in the infrastructure of the entry-exit checkpoint: improved conditions for crossing the delimitation line by the civilian population, in particular getting through passport control, and the lack of queues at the checkpoint.

In addition, the Deputy Representative of the UNHCR in Ukraine learned about the peculiarities of duty of the border guards at the checkpoint, their tasks for maintaining safety, countering the movement of weapons, munitions, terrorist means from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, detecting the members of the armed formations of the Russian Federation if they try to cross the delimitation line.
