Russian-led forces launch ten attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces launched ten attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements four times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

The enemy fired 45 120mm and 82mm mortars into Ukrainian troops. In addition, the illegal armed formations fired weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms on the units of the Joint Forces.

“In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces opened fire from 120mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns on Ukrainian troops near Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns – near Novotroitske (36km south-west of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, illegal armed formations used 120mm and 82mm mortars and heavy machine guns to shell the Joint Forces units in the area of Popasna (69km west of Luhansk), 120mm and 82mm mortars – outside Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk); weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – near Popasna; heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk).

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling.

The Joint Forces adequately returned fire in response to the enemy shooting.

Today, the enemy has already launched two attacks on Ukrainian troops.
