Ukrainian troops in Donbas come under artillery and mortar fire, two soldiers killed

Russian occupation forces launched 15 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 14 times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

“In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars on Ukrainian troops near Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk); 120mm mortars, mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems and small arms – outside Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk); automatic mounted grenade launchers – in the area of Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); grenade launchers of different systems and heavy machine guns – near Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk),” the JFO Headquarters press centre reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, illegal armed formations used 152mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars and small arms to shell Ukrainian positions in the area of Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk); 120mm mortars and automatic mounted grenade launchers – near Popasna (69km west of Luhansk); 120mm mortars – outside Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk).

Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and two more were wounded in shelling.

According to the intelligence, three invaders were annihilated and eight more were wounded on April 2.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.

The Joint Forces reliably control the actions of the enemy on the contact line, adhering to the ceasefire regime.
