Russian-led forces fire 117 shells into Ukrainian troops in Donbas

On March 27, Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas 13 times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements ten times and firing 117 shells into Ukrainian troops.

“Russian occupation troops fired artillery systems, mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms on Ukrainian defenders,” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, the Russian-led forces used 82mm mortars, under-barrel grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to shell Ukrainian troops near Opytne (12km north-west of Donetsk); grenade launchers of different systems – outside Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); mounted antitank grenade launchers – in the area of Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol); heavy machine guns – outside Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy fired 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, hand-held grenade launchers on Ukrainian positions near Krymske (42km north-west of Luhansk); 120mm and 82mm mortars, automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk); 120mm mortars, weapons on BMP-1infantry fighting vehicle, heavy machine guns and small arms – near Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars – in the area of Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, mounted antitank and automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – near Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.

The Joint Forces adequately returned fire in response to enemy’s shooting. One invader was annihilated, two more were wounded.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.
