Russian-led armed formations violate ceasefire seven times in eastern Ukraine

Russian occupation forces violated ceasefire seven times, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements four times, in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

“The enemy fired 40 82mm and 120mm mortars into Ukrainian troops. In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, the invaders used heavy machine guns, sniper and small arms to shell Ukrainian strongholds near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports on Facebook.

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, Russian-led forces fired 82mm mortars, weapons on BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, mounted antitank grenade launchers and small arms on Ukrainian troops in the area of Vilne (70km south-west of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, mounted antitank grenade launchers and small arms – outside Zolote-4 (59km west of Luhansk); automatic mounted grenade launchers – near Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk); small arms – outside Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk).

One Ukrainian serviceman was killed, two more were wounded, the Headquarters reports.

The Joint Forces returned fire in response to enemy’s shelling. Tree invaders were annihilated and six more were wounded. A military vehicle of invaders was destroyed, with an antitank missile system.

Today, the enemy has already opened fire from hand-held grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms on a stronghold of the Joint Forces near Zolote-1 (60km west of Luhansk) in the zone of action of tactical force “North.” One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling.
