President Poroshenko: 217 soldiers from Zhytomyr region killed since start of Russian aggression

217 Ukrainian soldiers from Zhytomyr region were killed in Donbas since the start of Russian aggression.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this at a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Zhytomyr region, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"I’m grateful to Zhytomyr region for supporting veterans, for remembering 217 deceased heroes, your fellow countrymen. Glory to the heroes who defended Zhytomyr region and whole Ukraine from Russian aggression! The strength of our new Ukrainian army can’t be beaten by the enemy!” Poroshenko said.

He also thanked Zhytomyr region for supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and added he would visit the 95th air assault brigade located in the region.

"It [the 95th brigade] and the 30th Konstanty Ostrogski mechanized brigade, as well as other units of the Ukrainian army, are respected and loved by Ukrainians," the President added.

As reported, President Petro Poroshenko is on a working visit in Zhytomyr region on Monday, March 11.
