Over 500 soldiers from Dnipropetrovsk region killed since start of Russian aggression – Poroshenko

More than 500 Ukrainian soldiers from Dnipropetrovsk region were killed in the fight against the Russian aggressor.

President Petro Poroshenko stated this at a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Dnipropetrovsk region, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“More than 500 warriors of Dnipropetrovsk region gave their lives so that we could change the state and continue the reforms. And this is a very heavy cross to bear, we must remember them and do everything possible to prove that all this was not vain,” said Poroshenko.

He stressed that since the start of the Russian aggression, Dnipropetrovsk region has become a front-line fortress, an outpost of Ukrainians in the east.

Also, Poroshenko thanked residents of Dnipropetrovsk region for the courage and heroism of volunteers, paratroopers of the 25th brigade, for the dedicated work of doctors, for accepting a large number of internally displaced persons and for defending Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.
