Russian-led forces fire 125 mortars into Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces launched 13 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 11 times, on Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine. 

“A total of 125 82mm and 120mm mortars were fired into Ukrainian positions. In addition, the enemy shelled Ukrainian strongholds, using weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, the Russian-led forces launched attacks on Ukrainian strongholds, using 120mm mortars, automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – near Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol), 120mm mortars – outside Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); 120mm mortars, hand-held antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – in the area of Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); sniper weapons – near Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, occupants fired 82mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems on the JFO units near Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk); 82mm and 120mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – near Vilne (70km south-west of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – outside Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars, hand-held antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – near Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk)/

One Ukrainian serviceman received a fatal wound.

Today, the enemy has not opened fire yet.
