Poltorak discusses further cooperation with foreign strategic advisers

Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has held a meeting with foreign high-level strategic advisers of the Committee for Reforms of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces, the Defense Ministry’s press service reports.

"The parties discussed the state of reforming the defense department and prospective directions of work for 2019," reads the report.

During the meeting, Poltorak told the foreign delegation about the implementation of Defense Ministry’s reform in line with the Euro-Atlantic principles and emphasized the importance of support provided by partners from the Alliance.

Special attention was also paid to reforming the management system of the Armed Forces.

Strategic advisers, in turn, noted significant progress in reforming the Ukrainian army. Canadian strategic advisor Jill Sinclair stressed the importance of support for the Defense Ministry from the side of the George Marshall Center in reforming the military education, the ministry reported.
