UN: About 13,000 people killed in war in eastern Ukraine

From April 2014 till the end of 2018, about 12,800-13,000 people were killed in the war in Donbas.

In particular, about 3,300 civilians, 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers, 5,500 Russian-backed militants were killed. In addition, 27,000-30,000 people were injured in the armed conflict, Deutsche Welle reports with reference to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

At the end of 2017, the UN reported on 10,300 killed and 24,000 wounded and injured in the war in Donbas.

According to the UN data, 55 civilians were killed (half as many as in 2017) and 224 were injured in Donbas in 2018. The Ukrainian military reported on 100 soldiers killed and more than 500 wounded. Russian-backed militants reported on 162 killed and 310 wounded.

In general, more than 4,700 people have died in the territories occupied by Russia during the war.
