Militants launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

The situation in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day escalated in Popasna direction but remained absolutely controlled by the Joint Forces.

“Militants launched 15 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements six times, on Ukrainian troops. The enemy used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms,” reads the report of the JFO Headquarters press center.

In addition, the enemy used 120mm mortars to shell the JFO strongholds near Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk) and launched five attacks outside Vilne (70km south-west of Donetsk), using 82mm mortars. In this area, the invaders also fired ZU-23-2 antiaircraft guns and antitank guided missiles.

Over the past day, militants launched attacks on Ukrainian troops near Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Taramchuk (30km south-west of Donetsk), Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol) and Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol). Heavy weapons were not used in those attacks.

One serviceman of the Joint Forces was wounded in last day.

According to the intelligence, three militants were killed and two more were wounded on December 5.

No enemy attacks have been reported today.
