Militants launched 18 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 18 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements seven times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day.

“Over the past day, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions outside Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk), Malynove (19km north-east of Luhansk), Vilne (70km south-west of Donetsk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk), Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk), Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reported.

The terrorists fired grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms. The enemy used 82mm mortars to shell Ukrainian troops near Vilne, Luhanske, Opytne, Hnutove and Vodiane, and 120mm mortars – near Malynove.

Two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in hostilities in last day.
