Over 27,000 people sign contracts with Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2018

Over 27,000 people have signed contracts for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the current year, according to Deputy Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Ihor Pavlovskyi.

“Over 27,000 people, including 1,700 officers, have been enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces under the contract since the beginning of 2018," Pavlovsky said, the ministry’s press service reports.

According to him, the regional and district (city) draft committees continue their work on the conscription of Ukrainians for military service in October-December 2018, and as part of the autumn conscription campaign, about 5,000 men were drafted into the Ukrainian army as of early November.
