Militants launched 19 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 19 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements three times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day. 

“Over the past day, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions outside Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Shchastia (23km north of Luhansk), Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk), Shumy (50km north of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Taramchuk (30km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

Russian-occupation troops fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. Militants used 120mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms to shell JFO units outside Vodiane; 82mm mortars – near Krymske and Shyrokyne. Ukrainian positions near Shchastia came under sniper fire.

Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in last day. According to the intelligence, eight militants were killed and another two were wounded.

Today, illegal armed formations have already launched attack on Ukrainian troops near Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk), using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

The situation remains fully controlled by the Joint Forces, the JFO headquarters assures.
