Militants launched 28 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 28 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 12 times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day. 

“Over the past day, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk), Travneve (51km north-east of Donetsk), Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk), Starohnativka (52km south of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Stepne (29km south-west of Donetsk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

Russian-occupation troops fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, anti-tank missile systems, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft autocannon, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

Two Ukrainian servicemen were killed in land mine blast.

Russian mercenaries used 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Travneve, Novoluhanske, Krasnohorivka; 82mm mortars – outside Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Novoluhanske, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Hnutove and Lebedynske; anti-tank missiles – in the area of Zolote and Hnutove; weapons on infantry fighting vehicles – near Krymske and Travneve. In addition, militants opened fire from ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft autocannon on JFO units near Novotoshkivske. Ukrainian stronghold outside Hnutove came under sniper fire.

Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed, three more were wounded in shelling in last day. According to the intelligence, six militants were killed and ten more were wounded.

Today, illegal armed formations have already launched three attacks on Ukrainian troops near Hnutove and Shyrokyne, using heavy machine guns and small arms.
