Militants launched 36 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 36 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 12 times, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day. 

“Over the past day, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk), Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk), Stepne (29km south-west of Donetsk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), Travneve (51km north-east of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

Russian-occupation troops fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, ZU-23-2 anti aircraft automatic cannons, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

Ukrainian positions near Vodiane, Krymske, Luhanske and Lebedynske came under 120mm mortar fire. The enemy also opened fire on JFO units outside Luhanske, Krymske, Novotoshkivske and Travneve, using 82mm mortars. Defenders of Shyrokyne came under ZU-23-2 anti aircraft automatic cannon fire. In addition, militants fired on Ukrainian troops near Novotoshkivske, Troitske, Vodiane and Lebedynske, using weapons on infantry fighting vehicles.

Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in last day.

Today, militants have already launched two attacks on Ukrainian troops near Pavlopol and Shyrokyne, using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.
