Security officers of Ukraine and UK agree on counteraction to Russian special services

Ukraine and the United Kingdom agreed to strengthen cooperation in countering the reconnaissance and subversive activities of the Russian special services and cyber threats.

This was discussed during the working meeting of Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Hrytsak with Minister of State for Security at the Home Office of the United Kingdom, Ben Wallace.

“Mr Hrytsak told Mr Wallace about the large-scale operation launched by the Russian special services to destabilize the social and political situation in Ukraine on the eve of the elections as well as the attempts to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the international community. The parties reached an agreement on deepening bilateral cooperation in countering the reconnaissance and subversive activities of the Russian special services and cyber threats," the press service of Ukraine’s Security Service reports.

As noted, Hrytsak and Wallace took part in the opening ceremony of the second module of the educational course on conducting interrogation with the observance of fundamental human rights, held with the support of the British side. The purpose of the event was to acquaint Ukrainian security officers with the best practices of British law enforcement agencies in the field of interviewing eyewitnesses and interrogating witnesses within the framework of investigation of crime.
