President approves ratification of agreement between Ukraine and Poland on defense cooperation

President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on ratification of the agreement between Ukraine and Poland in the field of defense.

“President Petro Poroshenko signed the Law of Ukraine "On Ratification of the General Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Poland on Cooperation in the Field of Defense," the press service of the head of state reported.

The implementation of the document creates opportunities for the development of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the field of defense.

The agreement provides for cooperation between the two countries in the defense industry in 24 areas, in particular military communications and the information system, research for the needs of the armed forces, military infrastructure, development, modernization, manufacturing and supply of defense equipment, cooperation in the defense industry, sphere of military training, military medicine and others.

As reported, on September 6, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the general agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Poland on defense cooperation.
