Militants launched 18 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Militants launched 18 attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements four times, on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

“Russian-occupation troops fired on the defenders of Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reported.

The enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to shell Ukrainian troops.

In particular, Russian-backed militants fired 82mm mortars on the JFO positions outside Vodiane and Hnutove. Ukrainian strongholds near Shyrokyne and Hnutove came under 120mm mortar fire.

In addition, the positions of the Joint Forces near Vodiane and Shyrokyne were fired from weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, antitank missile system and ZU-23-2 anti aircraft mount.

Three Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in last day. According to the intelligence, one militant was killed, and five more were wounded.

Today, Russian-occupation troops have already launched four attacks on Ukrainian troops outside Krymske, Pavlopol, Vodiane and Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk). No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported.
