Militants launched 26 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 26 attacks, including four from weapons banned under the Minsk agreements, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day. The situation remained tense but absolutely controlled.

“Russian-occupation forces used120mm and 82mm mortars, tanks, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire on the defenders of Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk), Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

The enemy opened fire from mortars outside Krymske in Luhansk direction, Luhanske in Svitlodarsk direction, Hnutove and Lebedynske in Mariupol direction. Militants also used tanks in the area of Lebedynske after sustained interruption.

Two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in last day. According to the intelligence, three militants were killed and another four were wounded.

Today, militants have already launched six attacks on Ukrainian troops near Pavlopol, Novoluhanske, Hnutove and Lebedynske, using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, artillery and mortars.
