Militants violated ceasefire 39 times in eastern Ukraine in last day, one soldier killed

Russian-backed militants launched 39 attacks, including 17 from heavy weapons, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas in last day.

“Russian-occupation forces used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, small arms and weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, as well as 82mm and 120mm mortars and artillery weapon of 122mm caliber in certain directions, to fire on the defenders of Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk), Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Nevelske (18km north-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Hranitne (57km south of Donetsk), Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol),” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

One Ukrainian soldier was killed, and four were wounded in shelling in last day.

According to the intelligence, three militants were killed, and six were wounded.

The JFO Headquarters reminded that during the past day the Russian occupation troops, in addition to attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops, used artillery weapon of 152mm caliber to shell the Vrubivka village in Luhansk. As a result of the shelling, a 35-year-old local resident was killed, and buildings and infrastructure were damaged.

Today, militants have already opened fire four times on Ukrainian troops near Pivdenne, Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) and Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk).
