OSCE SMM intends to expand its presence in Donbas

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Ukraine intends to expand its presence in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The organization stated this following a request from Ukrinform.

"The mission is still determined to expand its presence in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. SMM has already identified several locations to open offices in the area located near the non-government-controlled border section in two regions. However, due to the lack of security guarantees from armed formations, the mssion cannot open any of them,” reads the statement.

Earlier, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker stated that “Russia consistently blocks expansion of OSCE mission in Donbas”.
