Militants violated ‘bread ceasefire’ 300 times over past two weeks - Herashchenko

Russian-backed militants in eastern Ukraine every day violate the ‘bread ceasefire,’ established in Donbas for the period of harvesting.

First Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, President’s Representative for the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions, Iryna Herashchenko, said this at a meeting with Commander of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Serhiy Nayev.

"Even during the ‘bread ceasefire’ militants daily violate the ceasefire regime, using small arms, mortars, rocket anti-tank launchers, grenade launchers. More than ten Ukrainian soldiers were wounded over the past two weeks, more than 300 violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded. In Luhansk region, the situation in Krymske and Troitske remain the most troubled. Attacks are also launched on Zolote,” Herashchenko said.
