Militants violated ceasefire in eastern Ukraine 24 times in last day

Militants launched 24 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

“Russian-occupation troops violated ceasefire regime 24 times, using heavy arms two times,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In Luhansk and Horlivka directions, no attacks were recorded.

In Popasna and Svitlodarsk directions, Ukrainian positions came under fire of grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

In Donetsk direction, illegal armed groups opened fire 8 times near Marinka, Berezove, Avdiivka and Opytne.

The largest number of attacks was recorded in Mariupol direction, where Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions 14 times, using grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. Also, the enemy for the first time over the past six days used 82-mm mortars, which are prohibited under the Minsk agreements.

According to intelligence data, one Russian-backed soldier was killed and another three were wounded.
