Militants violated ceasefire in eastern Ukraine 27 times in last day

Militants launched 27 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

 “Russian-occupation troops violated ceasefire regime 27 times, using the weapons banned under the Minsk agreements eight times,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

The tense situation was observed near Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk), where militants used small arms, grenade launchers, 122mm artillery and 120mm mortars.

In Donetsk direction, the enemy mainly fired small arms and grenade launchers. The armed hostilities took place outside Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk) and Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), where militants fired grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.

In Mariupol direction, after 18:00, Russian-backed militants scaled up their activities near Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), using 122mm artillery. The joint forces’ positions also came under 120mm mortar fire outside Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol).

Today, the enemy launched two attacks on Ukrainian soldiers near Novotoshkivske, using 82mm mortars. JFO positions outside Lebedynske came under grenade launcher and small arms fire.

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported in last day.
