Russia’s cyberattacks caused billion in losses to Ukraine – Turchynov

Last year, cyberattacks by the Russian Federation against Ukraine caused billion in economic losses.

National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said this during the 9th National Expert Forum in Kyiv on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Last year's cyberattacks inflicted a severe blow to our economy. There were billion in losses," he said.

Turchynov noted that in response to these challenges, the Ukrainian Government managed to achieve serious results. "In a very short time, a protection network has been built, which today reliably protects the information resources of the state institutions, and begins to protect strategic infrastructure facilities," he said.

According to the NSDC secretary, the cyberdefense in Ukraine is now at the level of many European countries.
