Four Ukrainian servicemen wounded in Donbas over past day - Defense Ministry

Four Ukrainian servicemen have been wounded in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbas as a result of enemy shelling over the past 24 hours.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Maksym Prauta said this at a briefing on Tuesday, May 1, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Four of our defenders have been wounded as a result of enemy shelling. The health of three of them is estimated as satisfactory, and one soldier is in a state of moderate severity," Prauta said.

According to him, the situation on the contact line has not changed significantly over the past 24 hours. The Russian occupation forces do not stop shelling the defensive positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in particular from weapons proscribed by the Minsk agreements.

"In general, all 44 cases of enemy shelling recorded on the contact line over the past 24 hours were identified as aiming. In order to preserve the life and health of the personnel, Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen returned fire 14 times, using weapons strictly permitted by the Minsk agreements," he said.
