Sanctions against Russia should be strengthened - Foreign Ministry

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry believes that it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against Russia in order to force its militants to adhere to the ceasefire regime in Donbas.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mariana Betsa wrote this on Twitter.

"Never trust the aggressor. Another 'ceasefire' [was marked by] 57 cases of shelling, three Ukrainian soldiers wounded by Russian occupation forces and Russian-supported militants in Donbas. It is necessary to strengthen sanctions," she wrote.

The ceasefire regime for the period of the Easter holidays, the so-called Easter truce, came into force in Donbas from midnight on Friday, March 30. It was previously agreed upon by the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.

According to the headquarters of the anti-terrorist operation, militants from Russian occupation forces have shelled Ukrainian positions 57 times over the past 24 hours, injuring three Ukrainian servicemen.
