Ukraine expects to receive defensive weapons from the U.S. in few weeks

Ukraine expects the first delivery of defensive weapons from the U.S. in a few weeks.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this at a press conference on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The first delivery of the weapons [from the U.S.] should be held in a few weeks," the Head of the State said.

He notes that the agreements reached with the American partners provide for a number of deliveries, which will include antisniper complexes, electronic warfare facilities and other types of weapons.

In this context, Poroshenko recalls that many Ukrainian soldiers in Donbas were killed precisely at the hands of Russian snipers.
