Militants launched 14 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 14 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day.

In Luhansk direction, militants used 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars, anti-aircraft mounts, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to launch attacks on Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). The shelling of this front-line locality lasted over five hours. About 150 missiles and mortars were fired. In addition, illegal armed formations fired more than 60 mortars of 120mm and 82mm caliber on the outskirts of Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). The aggressor also opened fire from 82mm mortars near Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk) and Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk). ATO positions outside Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk) came under small arms and grenade launcher fire.

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.
