Militants launched 11 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 11 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day. 

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations used 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms to shell Ukrainian strongholds near Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk). The enemy also fired 82mm mortars near Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk). Militants launched attacks on Ukrainian positions outside Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk), Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk), Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk) and Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), using grenade launchers of different calibers. The enemy’s heavy machine gun shelling was recorded near Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk).

In Donetsk direction, militants used 120mm mortars and heavy machine guns near Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk). ATO troops outside Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk) came under automatic grenade launcher, small arms and heavy machine gun fire.

As the Headquarters reported, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and another two were wounded.
