Commander-in-Chief of Ukrainian Armed Forces outlines priority of military reform

The key priority of military reform and training of troops is increasing their mobility.

Chief of the General Staff - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko said this during the meeting with members of the Kyiv Association of Military Attaches, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine reports.

"It's about relocating the appropriate forces and equipment – brigades, regiments, battalions – that will move to threatening directions based on the activity and evaluation of the nature of the enemy's actions. The corresponding actions were practiced in the course of strategic exercises of moving and maneuvering over long distances. I'm talking about the exercises the Summer Thunderstorm 2016, the South Wind 2016 and the Unshakable Resistance 2017, when the troops moved in different ways - by rail, road transport, by its own, by air, and the raiding actions of assault troops over a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers were practiced," said the Chief of the General Staff.

General Muzhenko thanked representatives of partner countries and awarded Canada, US and Germany defence attachés for their contribution to the process of transformation of the Ukrainian army and military cooperation in 2017.
