Three Ukrainian soldiers killed, four wounded in Donbas over past day

Three Ukrainian soldiers were killed, another four were wounded in hostilities in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Spokesperson for ATO Oleksandr Motuzianyk said this at a press briefing on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Unfortunately, our army sustained losses. Three Ukrainian soldiers were killed: two were killed in the blast of an explosive device near the village of Pisky, another soldier was killed in the enemy shelling of our position near Novoluhanske,” Motuzianyk said.

According to the spokesperson, three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded near Novoluhanske and Verkhniotoretske, another serviceman was injured near Butivka coal mine. The soldiers were taken to military hospitals.

Motuzianyk added that Russian-backed militants over the past day launched seven attacks on the Ukrainian positions. The Ukrainian troops fired back one time.
