Ukrainian military shoot down enemy drone in ATO zone

Ukrainian air defense units have shot down a second unmanned aerial vehicle of the enemy during the New Year and Christmas truce, the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters has reported.

"On January 10, at about 21.23, electronic warfare systems spotted an unmanned aerial vehicle of the enemy, probably of the Orlan 10 type. The enemy drone collected intelligence data along the Horlivka-Artemove-Kurdiumivka-Ocheretyne route," the report says.

According to the press service, at about 23.40, the UAV was destroyed by an air defense unit of the Ukrainian Air Force.

"It should be noted that overnight, in the Donetsk and Mariupol sectors, Ukrainian units of radio-technical troops recorded reconnaissance flights of two more enemy UAVs," the ATO HQ's press service reported.

On December 28, 2017, Ukrainian servicemen destroyed a Russian drone of the Orlan-10 type that was collecting intelligence along the Zaitseve-Kodyma-Semyhiria route.
