Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk agrees on ceasefire from midnight of Dec. 23 – Olifer

The Trilateral Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas during a meeting in Minsk agreed on adherence to the ceasefire regime from the midnight of December 23.

Darka Olifer, the spokeswoman for Ukraine's representative in the TCG, Leonid Kuchma, reported this on her Facebook page after the meeting in Minsk.

"The Trilateral Contact Group with the participation of representatives of ORDLO [occupied part of Donbas] emphasizes the need for peace and calm due to the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, and taking advantage of previous agreements and obligations of the parties, in particular, it confirmed their commitment to the observance of a comprehensive, sustained and ongoing ceasefire starting from the midnight of December 23, 2017 Kyiv time," Olifer wrote.

She informed that the parties also confirmed their desire to fulfill the obligation to release detained persons before Christmas and New Year holidays in accordance with the agreements reached earlier.
