Militants launched 17 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 17 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day.

“The enemy violated ceasefire in ATO area 17 times over the past day. Ukrainian troops returned fire in over half of the cases. As a result of the enemy shelling, two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded, and another one soldier was injured” the statement reads.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations used 120mm mortars, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire at the Ukrainian positions near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). ATO troops outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Lobacheve (17km north-west of Luhansk), Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk) and Valuiske (20km north-east of Luhansk) came under grenade launcher fire. Terrorists also shelled Ukrainian strongholds near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk), using small arms.

In Donetsk direction, the tensest situation was observed near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), where Russian-backed militants opened fire from 82mm mortars and infantry weapons. Militants also used grenade launchers and small arms to launch attacks on the defenders of Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol).

In addition, an enemy UAVs, banned under the Minsk agreements, was spotted near Marinka and Shchastia (23km north of Luhansk).
