Militants launched 27 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 27 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day.

"Over the past day, illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire 27 times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces returned fire 11 times. As a result of fighting, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed, and another two soldiers were injured," the statement reads.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations used infantry weapons to launch attacks on Ukrainian positions outside Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk). The enemy also used mortars, grenade launchers, small arms and weapons on infantry combat vehicles to fire at Ukrainian strongholds between Zaitseve and Hladosove and thus to disrupt the visit of the OSCE SMM monitors and the UN mission representatives, who had planned to monitor the humanitarian situation in the two villages. Russian-backed militants also opened fire from mortars on Trokhizbenka (33km north-west of Luhansk) and from grenade launchers and small arms on ATO troops near Zhovte (17km north-west of Luhansk), Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk) and Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk).

In Donetsk direction, the enemy sniper fired at the outskirts of Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk). The infantry weapons were used by terrorists to violate ceasefire near Berezove (35km south-west of Donetsk). ATO troops outside Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol) came under grenade launcher and small arms fire. Militants also launched attacks near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), using weapons on infantry combat vehicles.
