Militants launched 22 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 22 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day.

This is reported by the ATO press center.

"Over the past day, illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire 22 times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the enemy 15 times. As a result of fighting, no casualties were reported among Ukrainian troops," the statement reads.

In Luhansk direction, the enemy opened fire from 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, machine guns and weapons on infantry fighting vehicles outside  Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). A total of 90 bombs were fired on Ukrainian troops. Militants also used small arms to launch provocative attacks near Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk).

In Donetsk direction, Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions near Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), using 152mm artillery. ATO troops outside Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) came under 120mm mortar fire. Militants also shelled positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine outside Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. ATO strongholds near Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk) came under grenade launcher fire. In the evening, illegal armed formations opened fire from heavy machine guns on the defenders of Starohnativka (52km south of Donetsk).
