Court changes measure of restraint for Deputy Defense Minister Pavlovsky

Kyiv Court of Appeal has changed the measure of restraint for Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Ihor Pavlovsky from house arrest to personal recognizance, court spokesperson Tetiana Hevedze has told Ukrinform.

"The board of the Court of Appeal decided to change the measure of restraint for Ihor Pavlovsky in the form of house arrest to personal bail of the Heroes of Ukraine," she said.

At the same time, Hevedze noted that the court had ordered the deputy minister not to leave the city, where he is registered, without the permission of the investigator, hand in his passport and visit the investigator at the first request. The new measure will be effective until December 10.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 12, the Solomyansky District Court in Kyiv selected the measure of restraint for Pavlovsky in the form of house arrest. The official is a suspect in a criminal case on the embezzlement of UAH 149 million during the purchase of fuel for the needs of the Defense Ministry in 2016.
