One soldier killed, three injured in Donbas

One Ukrainian soldier has been killed and two more have been injured in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in Donbas over the past 24 hours.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman on ATO issues Oleksandr Motuzianyk said this at a briefing on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"It's a pity that one Ukrainian defender died yesterday afternoon after the firing of positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of the Butivka mine. The leadership of the Defense Ministry, the General Staff, servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their fellow soldiers express their condolences to the relatives of the deceased warrior," Motuzianyk said.

In addition, he said, two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded as a result of shelling by militants near Luhanske and Krymske. One more soldier was injured. "All wounded defenders were promptly evacuated and taken to medical institutions," he added.
