FIEP grants full member status to Ukraine’s National Guard

The Association of European and Mediterranean Gendarmeries and Police Forces with Military Status (FIEP) has awarded full member status to the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), the NGU press service reports.

“At the summit of directors and commanders of the Association of European and Mediterranean gendarmeries and Police Forces with Military Status in the city of Amman (Jordan) on October 16, a decision was approved to grant the National Guard the status of a full member of the Association. For this decision, participants voted unanimously,” reads the report.

According to Deputy Commander of the National Guard Major General Mykola Balan, who represented Ukraine, granting the status of a full member is the recognition of the National Guard as an equal law enforcement structure among similar structures not only in Europe but throughout the world.
