Ukrainian army to get 62 tanks on Oct 14 - Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he will pass over 200 pieces of weapons and equipment, including 62 tanks, to the Ukrainian army on October 14.

He stated this during an oath taking ceremony for students of the Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum in Kyiv on Saturday.

"We need a strong army, which we have been creating for the past three years and which we are constantly strengthening. Today I am going to meet with the troops to transfer another batch of weapons and equipment - 200 pieces, including 62 tanks. I have the highest honor, on behalf of the Ukrainian people, to express the words of sincere gratitude to all servicemen for their heroism and courage, self-sacrifice and victory, patriotism and loyalty to the oath," Poroshenko said.

The head of state thanked everyone who currently supports the Ukrainian army and anti-terrorist operation (ATO) veterans with real deeds.
