26,000 people sign contracts with Ukrainian armed forces this year

More than 26,000 citizens have signed contracts for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the year.

Lieutenant General Artur Artemenko, the Head of the Main Directorate of Personnel – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this at a briefing in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Over 26,000 people (including more than 1,800 officers) have signed contracts with the Armed Forces since the beginning of the year," Artemenko said.

According to him, 3,152 people signed such contracts in September.
