ATO: Militants fired at Avdiyivka, Hnutove, two soldiers wounded

Illegal armed groups have already fired twice at Ukrainian positions since the beginning of the day on October 3, wounding two Armed Forces soldiers.

The spokesman for the press office of the anti-terrorist center (ATO) headquarters, Anatoliy Stelmakh, said this in a comment to the 112 Ukraine television channel on Tuesday.

"Our positions have come under fire twice since the beginning of the day. This is the Avdiyivka industrial zone, where the enemy used large-caliber machine guns and small arms. At about 01.00, the enemy opened fire from grenade launchers near Hnutove. Our military fired back from grenade launchers. Two of our servicemen were injured as a result of this confrontation," he said.

According to Stelmakh, the wounded fighters were hospitalized, and "the best medical specialists" are taking care of them.

At the same time, he said that reports on civilian casualties during yesterday's shelling of residential areas were being clarified.

"According to preliminary reports, there are no victims among the local population," he said.

Earlier, the ATO headquarters reported that militants had violated the ceasefire in the ATO zone 17 times over the past 24 hours.
