25,000 people sign contracts with armed forces

A total of 25,000 people have signed contracts for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the beginning of the year, according to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

Colonel Dmytro Hutsuliak, the ministry's envoy on ATO issues, said this at a briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Military service on contracts in the Armed Forces of Ukraine remains one of the most competitive professions in the labor market. Since the beginning of the year, 25,000 people, including 1,800 officers, have been accepted for military service," he said.

Hutsliak also noted that an operational reserve of servicemen liable for service numbering almost 130,000 people had been set up in Ukraine since the beginning of the defense reform.
