Defense Ministry: 42 km of roads in Donbas cleared of mines for past week

Military engineers cleared 42 km of roads and traffic routes in the ATO area of mines for the past week.

Spokesman of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Colonel Maksym Prauta said this during a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Over the past week, military engineers cleared 42 km of roads and traffic routes of mines in the ATO area, as well as almost 62 hectares of territory, neutralizing 465 explosive devices," Prauta said.

He also noted that since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), the engineering and demining units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had neutralized more than 156,000 explosive devices, cleared 1,200 km of roads and nearly 3, 200 hectares of territory in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
