OSCE records use of heavy weapons in occupied Donbas

Observers from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine are continuing to record the use of heavy weapons in the occupied Donbas, OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug has said.

He stated this at a briefing in Lviv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Last week, OSCE observers recorded a 15 percent reduction in ceasefire breaches, Hug said. At the same time, the week before, the number of ceasefire violations was 55% higher, he added. According to him, observers are continuing to record the use of heavy weapons.

He specified that observers recorded, in particular, weapons that should have pulled out from the line of contact - artillery systems, mortars, and tanks.

He also noted that there are many areas in the occupied Donbas where OSCE monitors cannot get.
