Militants in Donbas continue using weapons prohibited by Minsk agreements

Militants launched 18 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas over the past day, using the weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

In Mariupol direction, militants used mortars and grenade launchers to shell Ukrainian strongholds outside Chermalyk (31km north-east of Mariupol) and Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk). In addition, two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded as a result of militant shelling of Ukrainian positions near Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol).

In Donetsk direction, Russian-backed militants fired at ATO troops near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk) and Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), using 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations used 82mm mortars outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk) and Trokhizbenka (33km north-west of Luhansk). Ukrainian positions also came under 120mm mortar fire near Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk).
