Defense Minister Poltorak: Ukraine, Georgia united in aspirations to achieve NATO standards

Ukrainian Defense Minister, General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak has stated that Ukraine and Georgia are united in their aspirations to achieve NATO standards.

The Ukrainian Defense Minister said this at a meeting with Defense Minister of Georgia Levan Izoria, the ministry’s press service reports.

“I’d like to thank the people of Georgia for their support of Ukraine when it comes to the issues of saving statehood. Georgia is always close to Ukraine, and Ukraine is close to Georgia, we are interested in your experience of reforms and we are united in our aspirations to achieve NATO standards," Poltorak said.

He thanked Levan Izoria for the opportunity to visit Georgia and learn about the reforms that had been carried out in the country in recent years.

In turn, Georgia’s Defense Minister Levan Izoria stressed that Georgia is interested in strategic partnership with Ukrainian servicepersons, especially in the military sphere.
