Herashchenko: 113 Ukrainians still held captive in temporary occupied territories in Donbas

Iryna Herashchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, states that 113 Ukrainian citizens are still held captive in temporary occupied territories in Donbas.

She said this during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Sigmar Gabriel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“We stress again that it is unacceptable that still there are 113 captives in the occupied territories, and the Red Cross has no access to them. The Red Cross is not allowed to bring letters or parcels there. And it is even a violation of the Minsk format, Normandy format agreements. Of course, [the detention of] 17 political prisoners, of whom 10 are Crimean residents, in the Russian Federation is also unacceptable, as well as [the detention of] dozens of Crimean Tatars in Crimea,” Herashchenko said following the meeting.
